What is the future of consumerism payment methods?
Since the invent of the smartphone we have heard rumors that we would not need to carry around the irritating plastic that clutters our wallets. As time has passed and smart phones are getting smarter along with the rise of U.S consumers owning a smartphone (50% and growing) - this seems like a definite possibility.
There are various apps that a consumer can download to their smartphone to avoid pulling out the plastic. So far not all retailers have the functionality to support this payment type but it will soon be the norm for those who choose to use it.
Mind you, this may not be for everyone. There will still be those that will opt for the old fashion payment methods and that would be fine. The bottom line is retailers want to sell, sell, sell. Whichever way the consumer buys, buys, buys is their choice. And many more choices are on the horizon.
Now how about those apps that are out there that pay consumers to use them. What??? Yes, there are apps from doing online surveys to taking pics of your latest purchase items plus barcodes then getting paid for them.
